Troop 16 in Franklin, Tennessee is part of the Natchez Trace District, Middle Tennessee Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Our Troop was chartered in 1997, and is under the leadership of Scoutmaster Mr. Tyler Golden, just the third in the Troop’s history, preceded by Carl Nelson and founding Scoutmaster, Richard Cole. Troop 16 is an active Troop, with scouts of all ranks – Scout through Eagle -from Franklin, Thompson’s Station, College Grove, Bethesda, Spring Hill – all around Williamson County, Tennessee.
Our weekly Troop meetings are held most Tuesday nights at Epworth United Methodist Church (our affiliated organization) on Arno Road in Franklin.
We camp year-round and plan at least one Troop outing each month. These outings include activities such as backpacking, climbing, caving, and canoeing. In addition, we attend the council-wide summer and winter camps as well as a yearly high adventure outing, including Philmont, BSA Sea Base, and Boundary Waters. There are monthly Patrol Leader Council (PLC) meetings and our Troop Committee meets monthly, as well.
If you are interested in joining, or just want to know more about our Troop, then please contact us and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
We celebrate all our Scouts, but achieving the rank of Eagle Scout is something that only four percent of all Scouts go on to earn.
In 2002, our first Scout earned his Eagle rank. Since then, more than 80 young men have attained their rank from Troop 16.
